Loong Air has opened a new direct flight connection between Chengdu Tianfu International Airport in China and Taichung International Airport in Taiwan, marking the airline’s inaugural cross-strait service. This new route is set to enhance travel links between the southwestern region of China and central Taiwan, catering to the growing demand for convenient travel options in the region.
The newly introduced route will operate twice weekly, with flights scheduled every Tuesday and Saturday. This strategic expansion is part of Loong Air’s effort to strengthen its presence in the cross-strait aviation market while providing more options for passengers traveling between these two bustling areas.
For Taichung International Airport, the addition of the Chengdu route brings the total number of routes to 31, comprising 20 regular services and 11 charter routes. This development underscores the airport’s continuous growth in expanding its network, offering travelers an increasing number of destinations to choose from.
Currently, Taichung Airport serves three scheduled cross-strait destinations, with Chengdu joining the ranks of Nanjing and Qingdao. This expansion highlights the airport’s commitment to enhancing its regional connectivity and attracting more airlines to establish routes that foster closer ties between Taiwan and mainland China.
