This call came during discussions with Indian External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, where Wang highlighted the necessity of enhancing high-level exchanges and broadening collaboration across multiple sectors such as trade, media, culture, and people-to-people interactions.
Wang underscored the significance of managing sensitive issues through dialogue and advocated for stronger coordination between China and India on regional and global matters. He proposed that the two countries should work collectively to advance multipolarity and champion the interests of developing nations on the world stage. Additionally, the Chinese foreign minister reiterated China’s backing of India as it prepares to host the upcoming BRICS summit, encouraging increased cooperation within the expanded BRICS framework.
