China and India are gearing up for the 25th round of Special Representatives’ Talks concerning their longstanding boundary question. This development was confirmed by Guo Jiakun, a spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry, during a routine press briefing. Both nations are reportedly engaged in ongoing communications about border issues and are making efforts to uphold agreements from the previous discussions.
The Chinese Foreign Minister, Wang Yi, is currently visiting New Delhi for the 16th Meeting of BRICS National Security Advisors and High Representatives on National Security. This visit provided an opportunity for Wang to meet with Indian National Security Adviser Ajit Doval, a meeting that took place on Monday. These interactions underscore the active diplomatic engagements between the two countries amid broader multilateral discussions.
Guo Jiakun emphasized that the general situation along the China-India border remains stable, with effective communication channels still open between the two sides. This stability is attributed to the ongoing implementation of the consensus achieved during the 24th round of boundary talks. Both countries appear committed to continuing these efforts to manage border issues proactively.
